Another Western society as raw as always judgement

Reader comment on item: [Theo van Gogh and] "Education By Murder" in Holland

Submitted by M. Emrani (Canada), Feb 3, 2005 at 19:48

As a newspaper columnist, he was known for being provocative and politically incorrect. He caused resentment in the Moroccan community by consistently referring to them as "geitenneukers" (goatf---rs), In addition, van Gogh incurred the anger of leading members of the Jewish community by making comments about what he saw as the Jewish preoccupation with Auschwitz and by making jokes like "What a smell of caramel today. Today the crematoriums burn only diabetic Jews".

When he was criticized by the Jewish historian Evelien Gans, he wrote in Folia Civitatis magazine: "I suspect that Ms Gans gets wet dreams about being f--ed by Dr Mengele" and expressed the wish that she would sue him so that she would have to explain in court why his remarks were false.

His work, not-so-much-artistic, was definitely, a defamation of Allah (Muslim's God). You can check your dictionaries and see what blasphemy means.

I know for sure that blasphemy laws exist in the Netherlands, but they are not applied for the called-minority or counted-as-majority, Muslims in this country.

Just ask yourselves what sort of discrimination you, Westerns, make by your early judgements and generous acts.

Theo Van Gogh definitely deserved to be attacked by a fundamentalist, as he himself was a "Free-Speech-Fundamentalist", but not be killed.
