If we had fought World War II in the weanie way most people would have us fight wars today, Churchil would still be negotiating with Hitler and signing treaties over his latest conquest so as to assure Hitler's benevolence towards Britain; signing compromises (aka Korean War), and calling Nazism a "popular uprising" (aka Viet Nam).

Saddam Hussein was a peach of fellow with a fine family that was just misunderstood all of his life. We should just psychoanalyze our enemies (from a safe distance) and trust to their "better" judgment.
