Reader comment on item: Thoughts on the Killing of Osama bin Laden
in response to reader comment: A note on the death of Bin laden

BUT DO WE REALLY WANT TO PAY THE COST TO GIVE MORE GUARDS, MORE PAY-AND GIVE GUARDS AND CITIZENS REAL FIREPOWER? A rhetorical question-since the funding and respect FOR THESE ELEMENTS IS LAUGHED AT, SWEPT UNDER THE RUG-AND LARGELY IGNORED. WHY-BECAUSE THE GLORY DAYS, LIKE THE DEATH OF BIN LADEN-ARE FEW AND FAR BETWEEN. THERE WILL BE FAR MORE DAYS OF PAIN, STRESS, AND SOUL-SEARCHING WHEN IT SINKS HOME THAT WE CANNOT PROTECT SOFT TARGETS-MALLS, OR EVEN SCHOOLS FROM SUCH DETERMINED ENEMY ATTACKS. iI'll tell you what seasoned security and military in ISRAEL think of our security efforts---they roll their eyes and shake their heads-they know full well we are in harm's way and uncovered. No lies-no illusions-our leaders do not value lives, or labor, or anything below the upper class elitist and material plateau. Ask a security guard what he would do if the terrorists came in with machine guns blazing-----the answer---R-U-N!!. YOUR ANSWER-YOUR GOVERNMENT LEAVES YOU ON YOUR OWN-THINK ABOUT IT....
