Reader comment on item: How to Save the Obama Presidency: Bomb Iran
in response to reader comment: response to Ali - rallying behind the Mullahs

Submitted by Ali (United States), Feb 7, 2010 at 02:30

Iran as many other non-arab countries in the Middle East (including Turkey, pakistan, afghanistan, and india) has been suffering form the strong Islamic ideology. And it is not easy to be released from this influential religious ideology as many people may think (even though they may have a great history). The reality today is different from 2500 years ago.

As far as concerned about former Shah's son and a para-military militia that may back him up, this ides seems to be very cliche' and very distant from the reality on the ground in Iran. Former Shah's son does not have enough credit to become a leader for desperate Iranians who do not want to experience any more violence. Iranians have suffered many forms of dictatorship in the past 100 years and reached this belief that there is no one person who can save them (including former Shah's son) from their current tragic status: It is only through their own will and effort that they may change their own status for a betterment.

Thank you.

Ali
