Mr. Obama is fundamentally a pacifist and an apologist. His action on Afghanistan is the exception confirming the rule. He is surrounded by individuals who strongly believe that the US has done a lot of bad things all over the world, and it is time for the US to amend (Chicago reverend, Bredzinsky)!

He could have pulled out of Afghanistan and have Russia, China, India and the EU deal with the whole area (IrAFPak) on their own since none of them wants to solve the problem, while preparing itself, put all its might to protect its country and watch and wait actively.

On the other hand he could as suggested sometime ago by other strategists, simultaneously block the straight of Hormuz, capture Kharg Island and destroy the nuclear network of Iran.

The only unhappy fellows would include: Iran theocracy and basigies, Syria, Hezbollah and Hamas. The rest of the world would not complain.
