Reader comment on item: One Cheer for Obama's Arab-Israeli Policy

"Palestinians want from Israel what Israel wants from the Arab states—recognition and legitimacy..."

Dr. Pipes, surely you know better than anybody that it is not "recognition and legitimacy" that the (so-called) Palestinians seek from Israel. They don't give a hoot about recognition and legitimacy from Israel. They (along with the other Arabs surounding Israel) want only the destruction of Israel.

You acknowledge yourself that progress can only be made when the so-called Palestinian Arabs are defeated. They along with the Arab nations need to know that they are defeated and that the continuance of hostility against Israel will harm them.

Israel is never better when she faces reality and fights for her life and is never worse when weak, craven appeasers are in power that are prepared to bend over backwards just to be afforded a little "recognition and legitimacy" from backward, genocidal despots who have nothing but oil.

Your article seems to be trying to have it both ways.
