The phrase, "Historical Palestine," is an oxymoron. There never was a Palestine, historical or otherwise. "A rose by any other name..." which, in this case, what you are referring to is Israel and the land designated by the British government as the "Historical homeland of the Jewish people."

The Romans changed the name of Israel to Syria-Palestina to erase any memory of Israel, and from that illegitimate name came the shortened version, "Palestine" used up until after WWI when the British carved up the old Ottoman Empire into what we now know as the Arab states. "Palestine" became "Mandated Palestine," which basically referred to what was left over after the British carved out 70% of the Jewish Homeland and gave it to the Hashemite King of Trans-Jordan (known now as just Jordan) as a "thank-you" gift (known now as "pay off).
