Perhaps we are living thorugh the same attitudes that have prevailed throughout history as it seems there is an inevitable cycle that leads to the brink of extinction before redemption? It seems that that the reason for catastrophe lies in the fact that most do not leave their comfort zones until the 11th hour. The appeasers always seem to prevail until just before extinction when the voice of reason is heard.

Every occupation or occupation attempt seems to have followed that pattern - Nazism, Communism, Islamism and each have had their day unti the suppressed have finally revolted or decided to stand up to the inevitable oppression. I guess that as the majority of any population fall into the catagory of followers, it takes some time to motivate them to follow the controllers who espouse ethics, morality, human dignity, respect and survival.

The current tyrants are the Islamists - again - and until the 80% of followers stop being influenced in a modern world by the so called intelligentsia, our fate seems bleak. However, the silver lining is that ultimately reason, good sense and morality have always prevailed and hopefully will do so again.
