In response to 'Ayesha A'Reader comment on item: The FBI Fumbles [on Gamal Abdel-Hafiz] Submitted by n/a (United Kingdom), Apr 7, 2003 at 15:16 There have been and still are repressive regimes the world over, the worst of which are to be found in 'Muslim' countries or Muslim dominated countries but that doesn't mean you can paint everything black and white. This is the kind of thing that stirs up racial tensions, and if these 'moderate Muslims' fear social annihilation from their people, then why even in the West do they call themselves 'moderate Muslims' or 'Muslims' in the company of non Muslims as I have seen and heard so many of them doing including the Sufis?Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
