Reader comment on item: The FBI Fumbles [on Gamal Abdel-Hafiz]

Submitted by Rebecca Moulds (Egypt), Mar 14, 2003 at 14:01

I am not really surprised by this article and what it represents, which is , that, it is becoming increasingly clear that we are being lied to all the time by people in whom we put our child-like trust and who are supposed to be "protecting" us. Back in the early 60's, I was privy to a horrible film called "Anarchy USA." It was about the Castro uprising in 1959. As a small child, I was horrified by the murders of children particularly. Most of my peers had no idea why we had "duck and cover drills" but I did, because my Father was interested enough in politics and discovering the truth, but not from our Government, and definitely not from such organizations as the FBI. The link here is subterfuge and protection: it really depends on who's bull is being gored. Are we heading toward such a world where no one will tell the truth about someone else because they share a religion? As Christians, we are supposed to admonish those of our faith who are doing wrong, and show them the right way, not to protect them. Unfortunately, my reaction to this article is that even though the truth may be found out, not enough people care anymore what is right or wrong, therefore we are always spitting into the wind.
