Moderate muslims

Reader comment on item: The FBI Fumbles [on Gamal Abdel-Hafiz]

Submitted by Ayesha A. (United States), Apr 4, 2003 at 12:27

This is to comment on Gene Behl's post of March 16. Islamically there is no such thing as moderate muslim. Either you are a muslim which means that you believe Quran to be divine and follow sharia laws and prophet's doings, or you are not a muslim. In other words a so called a moderate muslim who does not strictly follow sharia,is friendly to infidels , does not believe in Jihad and killing infidels who refuse to convert, does not believe in slavery and sleeping with slaves and captured women, is going against Quran and hadees , and is an infidel himself.

In islam you don't pick and choose , you have to accept the whole thing or you are a non-muslim.

Therefore the "moderate muslims " prefer to stay quiet due to muslim social pressures and fear of social isolation by fellow muslims. In islamic countries you can be imprisoned for criticizing a islamic belief and can be sentenced to death (see faithfreedom.org)
