Reader comment on item: Hearing on "Should the United States Do More to Help U.S. Citizens Held against Their Will in Saudi Arabia?"

Submitted by Eva Goldman (United States), Jun 13, 2002 at 17:42

I noticed that the ads telling Americans how friendly Saudi Arabia is to us have all but disappeared. I wonder whether they noticed the same thing I did: that these ads have no effect on us because we see right through their lies. I believe that President Bush should have put them on his "Axis of Evil" list.

I also wonder whether we're not charging José Padilla, now known as Abdullah al-Muhajir, because of the American politicians who are Saudi-financed. For that matter, could this be why Congress hasn't declared war yet? Everything we don't do is now suspect because of their filty lucre. As a country, we need to know who takes money from Saudi Arabia and throw the bums out of office.

Thank you for participating in this eye-opening House Committee on Government Reform hearing! G-d only knows we need it!
