Mosque comes from Mask

Reader comment on item: Mosque in Cordoba, Church in Damascus

Submitted by Abu Nuwas (Saudi Arabia), Jan 2, 2007 at 09:08

The Cordova Catheral, according to the sources, was actually built as an adjunct to a contemporary Christian church (there was no "ruin" about it).

"The site was that of the Visigothic cathedral of St. Vincent."

"Ar-Râzî, as we have seen, explicitly recorded that the Muslims appropriated half of the principal Visigothic church for use as a mosque."

The idea that "at one time.....so therefore we should now be able to...."

is a very popular tactic with Islamist apologists.

Other examples of this include the idea that {we used the hijab back home, so why can't we do it here......we practice "honor killings" in our religion so why shouldn't se be allowed to do that here....etc} (One of my favorites is demanding "special food" on airline trips......I have been on a couple of flights where a special "location" was demanded by a "believer" so he could pray somewhere 35,000 feet above sea level travelling at 600 mph).

Since these flights were on Arab airlines (name withheld to protect the guilty), they were accomodated.

I have found all this risible, even when I was involved. But I know that it ultimately means that the Barbarians are at the gates.
