Denmark unable to escape medieval mindset

Reader comment on item: Something Rotten in Denmark?
in response to reader comment: Danish Hypocrites

Frankly that short history of how your grandparents rolled out the red carpet for Hitler illustrates perfectly how your nation is now at the forefront of a uncivilized campaign to provoke your nation's largest religous minority, ostensibly because it's "your right" to do so.

Don't be "sorry that [my] government doesnt allow [me] the same freedom" as Denmark does. What about the American citizen who was arrested in Denmark and extradited to Germany on account of material he published in the United States?! He wasn't arrested in America you know.

"You cant have a selected freedom, its either total freedom (within the laws) or controlled freedom - who controlls the freedom then, and is it then freedom after all?"

This is the vacuous and mindless mentality that obvious has prevailed in Denmark since Europe's Dark Ages. Basically it has nothing to do with freedom at all, rather who is in favor with your government and who isn't.

If you are a Jew and have a grievance about some publication that you feel to be derogatory, even if it wasn't published in Denmark, the government will take action on your behalf.

If you are a Muslim and you have a grievance about some publication that you feel to be derogatory, the government will not only not take action, it will pretend that a civilized society must defend the kind of filth being promulgated in Denmark at the moment.

To a non-European your comment about how percarious Israel's situation is thanks to the bloodthirsty Arabs is simply rediculous.

Your ancestors have slaughtered more Jews than the Arabs ever have. The savage people of Spain, Germany, Denmark, and a number of other European nations engaged in systematic anti-Semitism and pogroms against Jews for many centuries.

In contrast Jews lived peacefully in Muslim countries right up until the foundation of Israel.

Whatever explaination you conjure up doesn't change the facts, your grandparents refused to resist the takeover of your country by a deranged madman. Therefore you are also responsible for the Holocaust.

Now Denmark is assisting in the occupation of a Muslim country, and while Denmark is too miniscule to play any real military role in Iraq, it is taking up an assault on the Muslim world that even the US and UK are condemning.

Seems like WWII all over again, you've kicked the Jews out of Denmark, and now you're trying for the Muslims next with these senseless provocations.

Shame on the Danish people for not showing basic respect for other people's beliefs.
