Reader comment on item: Something Rotten in Denmark?
in response to reader comment: Surprised by the anti-Muslim views

"Well I'm offended by them walking around in beards and looking like they just walked out of the desert and women in this day and age covered up from head to toe. I'm also offended about them sacrificing sheep in their back garden."

No one from the West has beards?
As for the women who are covered up from head to toe - it's their personal choice, are you going to dictate to anyone what they choose to wear? I'm Muslim and I am not covered up from head to toe, that's my choice be it right or wrong, and nobody has forced me to wear any kind of clothing.

Just like you I am offended by people sacrificing sheep in their back garden, I don't want to see this - but then people kill animals all the time - be it in a slaughterhouse (where may I add conditions are often terrible and atrociously frightening for the poor animals). You may find it interesting to know that according to Islamic law, it is wrong to slaughter an animal in front of another, because animals are sentient beings and they understand and fear death (just like us) and this is very traumatic for them.

"I'm really offended about the cowardly way they put bombs on buses and blow up innocent people, I hate the way they come to our countries and build their riduculous mosques where women arent even allowed in them. ... And by the way it was quite offensive the way you behead people and show it on the internet!!"

I am more than offended by the blowing up of innocent people anywhere, I am appalled. Islam never condoned the killing of civillians under ANY circumstances.

We (women) are allowed in mosques actually.

The beheading of people is offensive on the internet and off - the people who do these things are criminals and should be punished. Personally I've never beheaded someone nor do I ever intend to, yet I'm shown the same hate and condemed for the same crime: "So all in all I m pretty offended by you lot but dont go around setting fire to your mosques or promoting death threats "

If you put your racism aside for a second, you might find you and I aren't so different after all. Maybe we even share the same hobbies and interests! If we met one another one day and you didn't know I was Muslim (therefore you didn't stereotype me and automatically hate me) who knows, we might have even become friends! Wouldn't that be a that a start for civilised interaction?
