Confusion of many

Reader comment on item: [Beltway Snipers]: Converts to Violence?

The question then becomes whether one's belief in Islam make the believers have violent and irrational principles?

In the Quran, it states that belief in neither compulsory nor can it be forced. It should be noted that in Islam, non-Muslims are given the right to practice their faith and believe in what they wish to believe. Islam also does not make heaven open only to Muslims and hell only to non-Muslims. Islam strongly states that one's deeds in this life decide one's fate, rather than what one says one believes in.

Muslims don't drink, don't believe in abortion on demand, but rather believe in abstinence, high respect for parents, patriotism for your country. Is this why Islam is so evil? It is not the Islamic world that provided the creation of Ccommunism (Eeurope, Russia), Facism (Spain, Germany, Italy), World Wars I and II, the nuclear holocaust in Japan, the Jewish holocaust in Germany, the Cold War and so forth.

So, are these the reasons why the west is so good?
