Thank YouReader comment on item: Europe under Siege Submitted by Fifties (Belgium), Jan 22, 2006 at 15:29 As a citizen of Belgium, having been absent here for over 15 years, I was shocked to see in unparralelled ways how in this little country the predominantly Magreb population has evolved from a generation of guest workers 20 years back, to an agressive uncertain presence in our daily existence.Having lived and worked in several parts of the globe (including the U.S.A) I am appalled on how impotently the law enforcement is handling this situation and frustrated on how little initiative is taken by the population. We are governed by academics that are in a state of "natural high" I suppose, every time they vote ideas into law. No Forum, opinion polls or any form of communication with a more and more coward public that is not realising the imminent danger of uncontrolled prolifiration that is about to descend on us here in posh Europaland. Thank you for your open discussions and voicing of opinion. If we are going to diffuse this sucker we better change the deck of cards that is forcing this phenomenon upon us. Reasoned disagreement is welcome but not comments that are scurrilous, off-topic, commercial, disparaging religions, or otherwise inappropriate.
