Reader comment on item: The Iraq Dilemma

Submitted by Sean (United States), Oct 10, 2002 at 11:08

"I believe the US, right now, is the most dangerous nation in the world ... I don't trust any administration with so many weapons in its possession, with such a terrible record that the United States has of using these weapons, I do not trust the United States to act alone in the world against the wishes of other countries in the world and to act on behalf of human rights ... I do not believe in the intentions of the United States." - Howard Zinn

Could there be a clearer distillation of the anti-Americanism at the heart of the left, especially the radical left? Zinn doesn't deny the arguments about the history and nature of Hussein's regime, that he may be close to obtaining nukes or that he blatantly violated the 1991 inspection argeement.

Zinn just doesn't have any faith that the U.S. will do the right thing.
