Reader comment on item: Muhammad Ali's "Beautiful Soul"

Submitted by k (New Zealand), Dec 2, 2005 at 03:54

so what if muhammed was racist back in the day, These were times when there was segregation for heavens sake. Does Muhammed hate white people ? have a look at his wife and you will find the answer. His trainer Angelo Dundee was a white man.

Muhammed Ali had a long friendship with Howard Cosell who was also white. ...

Does anyone remember Muhammed Ali trying to make Jewish jokes to break the ice. What about Drew 'bundini' Brown who was Jewish, he was in his corner during his career. Muhammed Ali was only 22 years old when Malcom X was alive. Malcolm was not the bad man he is played out be and achieved a lot in his 39 years on this earth. The segregation led to a human rights struggle. To portray Muhammed Ali as a radical is crazy. there is no evidence of it.
