Preemption and DemocracyReader comment on item: Defending and Advancing Freedom Submitted by Yvonne law (United States), Nov 2, 2005 at 20:35 I also found the entire article by Dr. Pipes to be impresssive except the 22 years to develop democracy in Iraq.Japan had a history as alien to democratic order and thinking as any country could be until World War II's occupation by the United States forces. I don't recall how many years it took for democratic government and outlook to develop there, but it was not nearly 22 years.
