Gaza will not bring PeaceReader comment on item: "Today Gaza, Tomorrow Jerusalem" Submitted by Jaladhi (United States), Aug 19, 2005 at 11:10 I do not think that Israel's withdrawal from Gaza is a sign of weakness or the beginning of its downfall as the people on both sides are portraying. One should have faith in the leader of Israel who perhaps knows better than all of us what is good for Israel in the long run. As for Palestinians who interpret it as the beginning of getting back of Jerusalem and other territories, they can dream on. It will never ever happen. Israel is not defeated by this move and is strong enough to take on all the Arabs in the region. So I would not despair by Gaza withdrawal. But this move will not bring peace in the region because that is not what the Palestinians or the other Muslims states want - they want all of Israel.Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
