Somalia redux?Reader comment on item: "Today Gaza, Tomorrow Jerusalem" Submitted by David W. Lincoln (Canada), Aug 11, 2005 at 10:23 When a country acts like a paper tiger and retreats from a smaller foe who is more militaristic, trouble is not waiting in the wings: It is on centre stage and the spotlight is on trouble. This is essentially what happened in Somalia, and that is the message received by the most wild eyed deformed souls who claim Islam as an identity. Therefore, unless Israel turns a deaf ear to those who are perpetually howling and are ashamed of the West... we will see Henry Ford proven right again. For he said that what we learn from history is that we do not learn from history. There is something else, but that raises the stakes even higher: nothing from Israel until such time as people can leave Islam by a different route other than the pain of death.
