Reader comment on item: [London Terrorism:] British "Covenant of Security" with Islamists Ends

Submitted by Pat (United States), Jul 8, 2005 at 11:37

The Koranic notion of covenant of security: Muslims may not attack the inhabitants of a country where they live in safety.

So on what basis did Muslims attack the World Trade Center in 1993 and again in 2001? When have Muslims not been accorded safety in the US?
Why do Muslims continue to emigrate here if this is not a safe country in which to live? Some who left after 2001 eventually returned because they felt safer in the US than in Islamic countries. What does that say about the Muslim world?
Security is a two-way street. Muslims must accord others the same security and religious freedom they demand for themselves. I don't see that happening anywhere in the Muslim world.
