I have sent the following as a reply to the mailing list: ******************************************* Here is a good example establishing the precedence: In 1938, the Czechoslovak government under external pressure ordered ALL Czech citizens (and ONLY Czech citizens) living within the Czech area (then designated as Sudeten Deutchland by the Third Reich) to remove themselves to create "living space" for Germans. In my mind, this and the Gaza removal cases are identical. There are many more parallels between 1938's Czechoslovakia and Israel of today. One would only hope that the parallel ends right here. Best Regards, Jaroslav Flidr
******************************************* I have received a reply stating stating that Czechoslovakia of 1938 was no democracy: I am sorry, but this is plainly wrong. With the possible exception of Switzerland, in 1938, Czechoslovakia was the only democracy in continental Europe. By democracy I mean a fully functional, free, democratic society on a par with that of the USA. As a matter of fact, for quite a while, Czechoslovakia was the last possible continental stop for Jewish refugees from neighboring countries. This was destroyed only after the Nazi invasion in March 1939.
So, for the sake of argument I reiterate: the Sudetenland withdrawal and the Gaza withdrawal are identical, thus establishing precedence.
