Reader comment on item: The Middle East Forum Debates Moderate Islam

Sorry, but the Pipes Dream of a Moderate Islam is hallucenogenic smoke, because the Quran is written in stone and is like a magic mirror that tells its readers to ignore fellow Muslims and obey Allah's commands directly, which are to take over the world in his name and make his Big Omelet no matter how many eggs have to be broken. In short, the Quran makes it choice #1 to kill for Allah, there are no consequences when a Muslim kills a non-Muslim or a claimed Muslim apostate, Allah Akbar. There have been countless attempts to reform Islam, all bloody failures. The closest thing today might be the Ahmadiyya Muslims, all 10 million of them, good luck with that.

What about Judaism? Yes, there is moderate Judaism, but the fact is that Israel is run by atheists who keep the religious Jews in their place. If there were a fundamentalist revolution in Israel, they'd soon be back to literal fulfillment of Jehovah's commands after executing the atheists. The only good thing about Judaism is that Jehovah commands Jews to take over and run the Holy Land, not the whole world. Too bad, Allah won't allow Jews to control even a square inch of territory in the Holy Land, hence the giant mess the Middle East is in, albeit the threat of World War III for destroying the Muslim crap on the Temple Mount and restoring the Jewish worship there keeps the religious Jews at bay. Good news, due to the great power of the Internet working on their minds, the Great Muslim Apostasy is just around the corner, where hundreds of millions of Muslims will tweet that they're chucking Islam, Allah, Muhammad and his Great Jihad and accepting the Jewish state of Israel, dancing in the streets with Jews. When the Wicked Witch is dead, the lines can be redrawn, with Greater Israel becoming a superpower that leads the ex-Muslims into a United States of the Middle East that becomes a blessing to the world instead of a curse, imagine them studying science five times a day instead of praying. But that Israel will still be run by atheists. Bad parts excepted, the Bible will always be great literature, like the Quran will never be. …
