Reader comment on item: Islamism's Likely Doom

Submitted by Dave (Canada), Jul 22, 2013 at 22:02

There's a very practical reason that every major religion, outside of Islam, preaches universal brotherhood: People need to get along. Islam, on the other hand, preaches victory, turning every adherent into a potential enemy of his neighbor. Hate they neighbor doesn't work, not does dominate they neighbor, or kill thy neighbor.

Islam arose as a way to regulate and justify an empire. It is like a shark that has to keep moving and attacking something, or it dies. Even if the whole world was Muslim there would be no peace.

The reason Islamism is in trouble is because there is no unified despot to unite all the sharks, so they keep attacking each other.

My thanks to Bush and Obama for pushing democracy, since it is a form of popular government that unleashes chaos among Muslims.
