The "Soul of Battle"
Reader comment on item: Are We Safer?

Submitted by George W. Sloan (United States), May 1, 2002

Victor Davis Hanson in his book details the sort of thinking one man must have to not simply defeat the enemy but to destroy the enemy completely and it is prophetic that this book should arrive so recently reviewing Epimanondas, William Techumeh Sherman and George S. Patton. The American public in general knows so little about the remarkable lives of our Sherman and Patton that prepared them for the ulitmate importance they played in the Civil War and the destruction of Germany by Patton. Each of the above were the most unlikely men to be considered an instrument of God. Bush may also be such and instrument and the unraveling of God's will shall take place right before our eyes and the negative media will naturally focus their hatred and scourge him, but, thankfully he will bring to all the Middle East peace, fredom, business, entrepreunerism and a choice of religions and remarkable prosperity ala Germany and Japan. Only latter day historians much like Victor Davis Hanson will give him Bush his due. The Middle East is just such as shell of poverty and slavery a house of cards equivalency found in our antibellem south and made possible by oil money and bad choices in American policy. Then God sent Patton to effectively destroy slavery and stop the destruction of Jews. Perhaps, God has sent George W. Bush to recreate the Middle East. Watch it happen! I hope.
