The fear of losing oilReader comment on item: Are We Safer? Submitted by Jack Faulstick (United States), Apr 30, 2002 Daniel,Thanks for iterating what I believe also. Can it be the fear of an oil embargo that inhibits our government? If so, they must be very short-sighted or are keeping their heads in the sand. If militant-Islam takes over the middle east, we won't get the oil anyway! Is it out of the realm of possibility for our government to undertake a project like the "moon" project of 30 years ago but aimed at developing alternative sources for energy such as hydrogen? If we could separate ourselves from our dependence on middle eastern oil we might get a clearer view of the danger and might help in defanging the enemy.
