One at a time.
Afghanistan first. Iraq second.
Countries X, Y, and Z third, fourth, and fifth. Or maybe not at all if they are sufficiently scared to truly reform.
The bottom line is that the US government is playing this just about right. Take out one nest of vermin at a time. Don't start multi-front wars. Get Afghanistan nice and stable, and show how being conquered by the USA is always a good thing for the locals in the long run. (RE: Japan and Germany, 1945-present.) Once Afghanistan is nice and stable, go for country two on the hit list.
Remember, on the original timetable put out by some "experts" in October, we should be taking Kabul in May.....
Patience is required here. The terrorists claim to have a long-term, historical vision. We need the same kind of vision.
This is not a baseball season. It is a war. And we have already been in it for 30-40 years.
