The problem we are facing now is not Militant Islam, but the culture of hate running out of control in many Muslim countries and spilling all over the world.

While the Western World deals somewhat effectively with lies and libel, the ideology of hate in the Muslim world is being pushed not only by religious, but also by government, educational and professional institutions.

George Orwell's "1984" described a totalitarian society controlled by:

1. Newly invented terminology – "newspeak".
2. Fabrication of facts and history - the one who controls the past controls the future.
3. TV monitors broadcasting non-stop propaganda.

These elements are present in the Muslim World.

1. US is "Great Satan", Judea and Samaria are "West Bank", "historic Palestine" etc.
2. Mossad destroyed WTC, there was never a Jewish Temple on the Temple Mount, Iraq won Persian Gulf War, etc.
3. Al-Jazeera with non-stop one-sided reports and commentaries.

Many of these elements are also part of our lives too. We read "settler killed" instead of "5-year old murdered". We say "West Bank" without giving it another thought.

So, the enemy is already here.

Mr. Pipes, you are doing a great job confronting loudmouth know-nothing TV hosts and their equally loudmouth fact-modifying guests. I am afraid it is just too little, but maybe not too late. The education of American and non-American public cannot be limited by soundbites between commercials.
