Dhimmi- means peace and safe and treaty for non-Muslims

A dhimmi, is a native of a country whose majority are Muslims and ruled by Islam.

Adhimmi may not take arms to fight, A muslim is compulsary to take arms to fight

Best place to read about Shari'a the internet, maybe you can start with wikipedia, it may not give 100 percent but it is a start, (I did not read it yet)
