I wish to disagee with you and Ravi Shankar when you say: " the early beginning of a new civil war — Europeans fighting each other, both Muslim and Christian"
It seems to me that this man, Breivik has succeeded in promoting what was on his mind, that is alerting his own population to the potential problems his country is facing. It also seems that to be able to attract attention to such a fact, you need to use the big means , which is what he did.
My first reaction was that most probably in that same area, Scandinavia, others, like Breivik, will imitate him, thus causing a snow ball to roll.
I do not see a civil war nor Europeans fighting one another, but rather igniting, by force and violence what many believe to be the wrong direction taken by many European govrnments.
Far from my mind to command such actions, but putting yourself in someone else's shoes, it makes it understandable.
We live in an open world and we do not all share the same views. some of us will use violence to express their feelings, regardless of the death they leave behind
The best to you
