Reader comment on item: Norway's Terrorism in Context

Submitted by myth (Germany), Jul 29, 2011 at 07:43

Breivik showed himself wearing a uniform. A uniform in the western tradition adds legitimacy, redemption, or even reward, to a killer who will stay unidentified as a person. It his uniform that puts Breivik into a western context regardless of his political manifesto. Breivik uses this tradtion, he did not invent it. That is a context worth investigating. How many of the "psychologically deranged" who committed similar crimes wore uniforms, camouflage clothes and the like?
