Are Muslims moderate?Reader comment on item: Identifying Moderate Muslims Submitted by G.B. Hall (United States), Nov 24, 2004 at 09:12 It seems to me I remember a poll result that 93% of American Muslilm voters voted against George W. Bush, who has liberated 50 million Muslims from despotic rule.Does this sound like moderation? I also remember the celebrating of the 9-11 attack by some, and the stony silence of the Muslim community to unconditionally condemn terrorism. I confess to being very uneasy in having such people distributed around our nation. The Netherlands got a dose of reality from a typical terrorist attack, an especially brutal murder based on a criticism of Muslim treatment of Muslim women. The killer left a chilling message and the result is that the Netherlands now has deportment centers and a determination to see to their own safety. ... Muslims can recognize and identify terrorists among us. Why don't they do so? G.B. Hall Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
