"Also, it is important to recognize that the Koran acknowledges Abraham and Jesus as well as Mohammad, and its teachings are similar to those of the Bible regarding brotherhood of all persons and the one Divine."

I continually read this comment in reference to Abraham and Jesus which I suppose is to point out that these is are people who are common to Islam and Christianity. In fact Islam denies the fact that Jesus was the Christian Savior. His work as Savior included dying on the cross and suffering in the Garden. God did not deceive the people by putting someone else in His place. He did as was predicted by the Prophets of the Old Testament. He was crucified and rose the 3rd day as He said he would. It was not someone else. This acknowledgment that both Abraham and Jesus lived is only part of the story. In fact Islam denies that Jesus was indeed who He claimed to be, the Savior of all mankind predicated on their acceptance of Him and His teachings.

I also hear that they were both of Islam which is do not believe. The Savior's life was not of one of cutting off hands or feet or stoning to death those who had violated His teachings. It was indeed a Gospel of love not vidictive in nature. There are many who claimed to be true Christians whose lives did not reflect the life of the Master. His teachings did not include death by the sword those who disagreed with His teachings. He was crucified by those who disagreed with him because of their hatred of being taught the truth which made them feel guilty.

There have been many things done through the centuries which have had the claim that they were Christians, but all that has to be done is to look at the life of the Savior and His teachings and actions and it will immediately be recognized that they do not in fact represent Christ or His teachings or His will.
