Profiling

Reader comment on item: To Profile or Not to Profile? [The Abdullah al-Kidd Case]

Submitted by Susan Krieger (United States), Sep 21, 2004 at 12:52

Dear Mr. Pipes,
I emphatically agree with your assertion that profiling is a necessary way of dealing effectively with the threat of terrorism. Shortly after Sept. 11, I read an op-ed piece written by an Arab Muslim saying that he would rather be embarrassed, inconvenienced and frustrated by being stopped at an airport because of his religion and race, than be dead because terrorists are overlooked...
I always look forward to reading your articles by email -- and also listening to what you have to say in TV appearances. I also -- as the mother of a college student -- tremendously appreciate the work you're doing through Campus Watch. Thank you.
