Daniel Pipes:
Some time ago I wrote to you about the need to recognize the real Enemy in Iraq, which is, of course, the militant Muslims and those who espouse the "Kill the Infidel" doctrine, etc. Unfortunately, we have yet to take off our blinders. .". Compounding this, and contributing to that blindness, is our own religion which counsels us to forgive and be reconciled, and even to pray for those who would harm us!
I see us bumbling along for many more months, perhaps years, having another thousand killed and five thousand wounded, and eventually withdrawing (Bush or Kelly) granting to the "Terrorists" the victory they fully expect, under the circumstances. What then? Full-fledged terrorism in the U. S.! And, unless we wake up we can expect to suffer most horribly.
The answer? As I suggested earlier, counter-terrorism! Prompt and violent retribution for every act of terrorism against us, on a scale so massive that even the most dense of their Rulers will see their own terrorism as counter-productive.
My letters to the powers-that-be draw form letter responses, but appear not to be read, and certainly not considered if read. So, I suggest that you, who do have an audience, hopefully, from among the leaders in government, take off your gloves and tell it like it is. The manner that you are presently writing is good, but it presupposes that your readers should to be able to recognize the danger that you are describing. I re-emphasize what I said earlier, we are truly blinded by our own religious faith, and simply are not able to imagine that what the Terrorists are telling us every day is what they actually mean.
Most sincerely yours,
Jim Wright
