Dank U,, CharlesReader comment on item: Why I Stand with Geert Wilders Submitted by Peter Herz (United States), Jan 27, 2010 at 18:50 Thanks, Charles. I do not know that much about Netherlands political culture, apart from how some political theorists have described in as a "pillared society" throughout most of the 1900's. The only reason I know about Kuyper and some other figures in your modern history is because I find many of the beliefs of the older "Christlijke Gereformeerde Kerken" congenial--although my ancestors who were domiciled in the Netherlands a good long time ago were Jewish. The "tolerance" measure in your Constitution seems like a major problem for anyone who sees a growing social problem or political threat. Of course, we in the USA have seen similar pressures since the 1960's. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
