Rewriting Islam

It always surprises me how moslems claim that much of the sira or even hadith are now not dependable sources when they had accepted it for the past 1400 yrs. Or is it because many of its stories are coming to light. How can one divorce Islam from Politics...most of Mohamad's life was wars and battles and even after his death...Islam is "Din wi Dawla" i.e. relighion and state. As to the opinion that Mohamad didn't bring a 9 yr old child to his house when Fatma lived with him, I say how about having a household with 9 wives and spending one night with each one...and didn't he divorce his adopted son, so he can marry his wife Zeinab (his daughter-in-law). Trust me there is no shame in islam.
