The Jewish state should be in the same place it was 3000 years ago.

Reader comment on item: Accept Israel as the Jewish State?
in response to reader comment: but where should the state be?

The Council of the League of Nations in 1922 -some 20 years before the Holocaust - reconfirmed that the Jewish homeland is in what they called Palestine, and gave Jews the right to immigrate and resettle the land, provided that the civil and religious rights of the existing non-Jewish communities be assured. What WWII and the Holocaust did, was to prove to many Jews that they could not be safe living in other people's countries as a minority group.

As for the Palestinians, as the Arabs there now call themselves, there are now 5 times as many of them today living in Israel, West Bank and Gaza as lived there in 1947.
