It is not JIHAD, it's IJTIHAD There is a difference

I find Muslim ignorance of their own religion to be both amazing and pathetic. It is not "JIHAD" which is a requirement but it is IJTIHAD which is required. IJTIHAD is the effort of one to improve ones self. Jihad is war for no reason other than conquest and that cannot be justified in any moral context.
