On Hitchens and DawkinsReader comment on item: On Islam and Islamism Submitted by Peter Herz (United States), Mar 28, 2008 at 09:20 Actually, Christian "extremism" is a good thing. Tweak a Christian conscience and challenge it to become more thoroughly Christian, you're going to get a homeless shelter, private school, or other helpful institution that people pay for themselves rather than tax their neighbors to get; tweak a Muslim conscience and tell it it's not Muslim enough, and people will blow up. As for Dawkins' and Hitchens' idolatry of science and the state, the 20th century practiced it eagerly, and left 169,000,000 people dead at the hands of their governments.
