Hatred and fear in Europe

As an American living in Europe I find what Dr Pipes says is true, however it does not go far enough. Unfortunately European elites and governments tend to have a hatred and fear of their own populations, probably an inheritance from the Europe of old that is exacerbated by the leftist ideology that dominates in Europe. Part of the heritage and worldview of these same groups is a hatred of the United States and a hatred of Jews. The US and Jews are seen as the cause of all evil in the world, as well as exemplars of all that is uncivilised. This is not to mention the hypocrisy of greedy, money-grubbing Europeans who lust after Arab money, and if the US and Jews stand in their way of getting that wealth, then it just shows how evil they are. In short, Europe is truly the continent of Esau.
