We shouldn't still pay for Europe's defense

Isn't it true, however, that Europe can pay cradle-to-grave welfare benefits (and destroy the independence and morale of its countrymen) because the US covers much of its military expenses? Euopeans can be peaceful, "let's-talk-it-out" Venus types only because we're their Mars?

During the Cold War, we were willing to carry their weight. But now, with the USSR gone, Russia falling apart, increased problems in Asia and with our own southern border; and given the Europeans' unconcealed contempt for us "cowboys," we should make the Venus-dwellers defend themselves. 1) Let's get out of Bosnia and East Europe all together and 2) severely reduce our funding and participation in NATO.
