Reader comment on item: Europeans: From Venus?

I have commented before that our plan for Iraq should include occupation in the style of Japan after WWII. Since the cold war is over we should move most NATO troops to Iraq to promote stability. Our European forces are heavily armoured divisions perfect for the Middle East as the Gulf War showed so vividly.

I will even nominate a McArthur figure for Iraq - Colin Powell.
