Reader comment on item: Muslim Hours at Municipal Swimming Pools in the West

Submitted by Vermilion (United States), Jan 2, 2008 at 00:18

There's a big difference between accomodating needs of a certain group and accomodating idiocy and overly sensitized beliefs. The whole muslim modesty is overplayed which in turn implies many things. 1) Men are sexually weak and thus cannot restrain themselves. 2) Women don't just have vaginas. They ARE vaginas. Hence, the need to cover from head to toe minus the face. Now I know i'll get attacked for saying this but if you think about it deep down you probably agree as well. Modesty doesn't just stem from dressing as assimilation doesn't require forsaking modesty i.e Shedding your long sleeved tees and jeans for a mini skirts ! It means to behave in a modest way as well i.e. Do not front to men in dark alleys or whatever. In Western countries, wearing bathing suits is the norm and you don't get raped for it as these women are made to believe.

What is more upsetting is everyone's tax payer money being spent to ONLY accomodate muslim women and other women aren't even allowed in these pools. Yeah, chances are these women might get raped by infidel lesbians in the process. WIth this attitude, Islam will never progress.

Finally, I'm not xenophobic. I just have an irrational fear of idiocy.
