Under my microscope !Reader comment on item: [Brandon Mayfield and] Preempt Terrorists, Or Not? Submitted by A.M. Delcambre (France), Oct 12, 2007 at 18:53 Dear reader, It is the first time you hear about Islamologist ..French Islamologist, what is worse ! Yes, unfortunately I am a french islamologist. I myself am not religious but I appreciate how sensitive the subject is ..coldly, under my microscope ! I have written : "Learn Arabic and infiltrate "; but whether we like it or not ...Muslims learn English and they infiltrate. In this context it is difficult to ignore the Koran and Arabic. I wonder whether it's possible to act as if nothing were wrong. You cannot imagine how difficult is to talk about this problem. I know, it is a big problem. A lot of people sincerely think that islam is peaceful. They establish a distinction between islam and islamism . They are only afraid of one thing , that they live in fear. And in fact we have a few people who resit : to resist by nonviolent means. To use passive resistance .What does it mean ? to learn Arabic, to learn how recognize "radical islam" . It means that we can distinguish between two muslims : the "moderate" and the "extremist". Patience is something we can learn. In classical Arabic , it is written that "Allah ma'a aS-Sâbirîna " God with patient people. For me , "God helps those who help themselves" With regards Anne-Marie Delcambre Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
