Right on!Reader comment on item: [Lee Harris on Why the U.S. is] Discarding War's Rules Submitted by Joe Fitzgerald (United States), Jul 22, 2003 at 11:57 Article right on. It is particularly important to recognize these principles when it comes to the Homefront. We have not mobilized adequately on the Homefront. This covers many areas, but most critical is where the global terrorist enemies are using our open society to advance their cause. The militant Islamists as described at length by Steve Emerson, Rita Katz, Stephen Schwartz, you and others are not challenged either by the moderate Islamists or by the majority of Americans in this country. The existence of a large number of militant Islamists in the US is a fact. Their presence places the Homefront at serious risk. How does the good old USofA rally the loyal(to the US) citizens to demand actions rooting out those who would do harm to our country? Pres. Bush, his team, and the military deserve our gratitude for their exceptional efforts in this global war on terrorism. The anti-Bush ranting of the leading Democrats is not only vile, totally unjustified and( dare I say it) unpatriotic, but it encourages, gives aid to our enemies both here and abroad. Keep up the good work. Joe Fitzgerald Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please.
