unilateral US action in middle east

Reader comment on item: [Lee Harris on Why the U.S. is] Discarding War's Rules

Please answer these:

Who gave Saddam 4.5 billion dollars in agricultural credits and turned a blind eye when he bought arms to fight Iran with the funds?

Who not only funded the islamic radicals in Afghanistan but encouraged the spread of their contagion throughout the middle east?

Who brought Osama Bin Laden to the US to the Redstone Arsenal and other military facilities under the name Tim Osman back in the 80's?

Who let hungreds of Saudi Arabians enter the US on business visas against the better judgement of Riyadh based US Embassy official (Michael Springman) who was overruled by the CIA resident? (15 of the 19 911 hijackers were Saudis)

Who turned a blind eye to the 7 billion dollars given to Saddam by Saudi Arabia for the development of nuclear weapons?

If the US is so concerned about the bloodshed and mayhem in Iraq (the fall back position now that the WMD argument is falling flat on its face) then why did we allow at least one million Hutus and Tootsies to engage in outright slaughter when we could have stopped it by merely flying gunships into the region to make display of power that would not have been lost on the machete wielding maniacs? (it has been stated many times by US state department officials in Africa that a show of force would have stopped the bloodshed immediately)
