They aren't the Nazis or the Japs

All he's saying is basically "an eye for an eye." So some extremist destroys the trade towers and that means we destroy some iconic building in say Cairo? How does this kind of logic work? Should we be stooping to their level? By that logic then when the Nazis exterminated whole groups we should have gassed all the Germans at the end of WW2? We kind of did that in a way to the Japs by dropping nukes on them didn't we? It's a scary place to go but I agree if our cities start blowing up 1 at a time we might just descend into such savagery. Until then I doubt even the Bush Admin. will follow this logic.
